Profile contract 1 is withdrawn on 2027-03-01. ## What changed Every place that reports how many checks Trooth read for a company, the Trust Profile, the public application programming interface (API), and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that AI agents query, now takes its numbers from the signed witness statement and says so. Before this change, the outer summaries reported 100 checks and 90 as expected while the signed statement behind them held 65 probes read, 63 as expected, and 35 not read. The statement was right and the summaries were not. Each count now carries its source, its definition, and the number of checks that were not read. The MCP server labels each answer by what produced it: a witnessed reading, a read of a connected system, or a token signature. The old label that called every answer witnessed and signed is deprecated and no longer returned. Answers also state what is signed: the reading, not the company-declared facts shown beside it. Profile API callers choose a contract version with a query parameter or the Trooth-Contract header; version 1 answers carry a Sunset header and are withdrawn on 2027-03-01. ## Why it changed The outer summaries disagreed with the signed statement behind them: 100 checks and 90 as expected against 65 read and 63 as expected. The statement was right. ## Who is affected - **Affected:** Anyone who reads check counts from a Trust Profile, the profile API or the MCP server; any integration that pins profile contract 1; and any MCP client that branches on the provenance value witnessed_signed. - **Availability:** The Trust Profile read in the API and the MCP server. No key. - **Release stage:** Available. - **Areas:** Trust Profiles, API, MCP server. ## What to do **Action required by March 1, 2027.** If you pin profile contract 1, move to contract 2 before 2027-03-01.
