# Install Semanto on nginx

Three configuration files. nginx sends agents' requests to your signed copy and serves everything else as before.

## Before you start

You need your Trooth ID. [Open Put it on your site](https://trooth.co/dashboard/semanto/install) in your dashboard: it shows these steps with your ID filled in, and finds your host for you.

## Steps

1. Download the package below and copy semanto-maps.conf and semanto-proxy.conf to /etc/nginx/.
2. Inside http, add include /etc/nginx/semanto-maps.conf; and paste the contents of semanto-server.conf into your server block.
3. Replace example-inc with your Trooth ID in both places, and point location @semanto_host at what your site serves.
4. Run nginx -t, reload nginx, then press Check my site in the dashboard.

## Download

[Download the nginx package](https://trooth.co/downloads/semanto/trooth-semanto-nginx-config.zip) (zip, 6 KB). You do not need to open the files inside it: the steps say where each one goes.

## Check it works

In the dashboard, press Check my site. It shows each of the three checks as Passed or Not yet, and what to change if one is not yet passing.

For developers: the same checks from a terminal

The answer should be markdown with Signature and Trooth-Semanto-Version headers.
