A public feedback board, and a comparison you can start with any two companies

Feedback is now a public board: search what others asked, vote, comment, and follow each request to the change that shipped it. Any two companies can be compared, up to four, on their published records.

What changed

The feedback page is a public board, with separate boards for improvements, company profile requests and problems. Typing a title shows the requests that look like it, so a vote goes to the one that exists. Every submission gets a reference on screen and by email, with who can see it chosen before it is sent. Each request carries a status with a published definition, the date of the last update from Trooth, a reason when it is declined, the words of any duplicate merged into it, and a link to the changelog entry when it ships. Votes inform priorities and do not promise delivery. Information on a Trust Profile that needs correcting is not on the board: it goes to the dispute route, an evidence review. The comparison starts with company selectors side by side and one action, for up to four companies, and a company not on the Network can be named by its domain. The comparison page has a rail to choose companies and criteria, Share and Export, the companies held in view across the top, an overview, sections that fold, and a switch for differences only. Every answer says who gave it, a missing answer reads Not published and is never a failure, and a conflict is marked. There is no winner and no score. The announcement bar above the header is removed.

Why it changed

Feedback went to one inbox and nobody could see what had been asked, what was planned, or why something was declined. The comparison only worked for two witnessed companies, and the Network has fewer than that today, so it could not be used at all.

Who is affected

  • Affected: Anyone who asks Trooth for something, and anyone comparing companies. Nobody's integration is affected.
  • Availability: Public. No account needed. Every request is stored on the board and also reaches a person by email with its reference.
  • Release stage: Available.
  • Areas: Network, Platform.

What to do

No action required. Nothing anyone builds on changed. The old feedback form is replaced by the board; account problems still go to support and data requests to the contact page, as before.

What comes next: Requests are read by a person and their status changes on the board. A study at /research asks developers and buyers to try these pages, and what they find is recorded.

What this does not fix

The Network holds one published company today, so a real comparison needs a second company to publish, or a domain named that is not listed.
