1 minute read

A reading limit that holds, token discovery for agents, and connected traces

The limit on free readings now matches what it promises, the public Model Context Protocol (MCP) endpoint and a new agent-to-agent (A2A) endpoint publish how to get an access token, traces connect the browser, the website and the application programming interface (API), and the signed-in workspace is fully in the message catalog.

What changed

Free readings now have two limits per address: three readings a minute, held by the platform, and ten an hour, counted by the reader itself. A site the reader cannot reach is now recorded as not read rather than as a finding. The public MCP endpoint and the new A2A endpoint at api.trooth.co/a2a/v1 publish protected resource metadata, so a client can find the authorization server it needs; until that server is configured they say so with a 503 rather than an empty answer. Every request now carries one trace from the browser through the website to the API, and the API logs the same trace id it answers with. The signed-in workspace reads every sentence from the message catalog, and the website can receive SCIM provisioning and shared security signals.

Why it changed

Trooth closed more of its open launch requirements on October 3, 2026. One of them found that the hourly limit on free readings asked the platform for a period it does not accept, so the limit a reader was told about was not the one in force.

Who is affected

  • Affected: People requesting a free reading, developers and agents calling the public Model Context Protocol (MCP) endpoint or the A2A endpoint, administrators who provision users with SCIM, and anyone who reports a problem and quotes a request id.
  • Availability: Public, except the workspace catalog and enterprise provisioning changes, which are in the workspaces.
  • Release stage: Available.
  • Areas: API, Network, Company workspace, Platform.

What to do

No action required. Nothing is required. Someone who requests more than three readings in one minute from one address now waits for the next minute; the limit of ten an hour from one address is unchanged.

  • Released: October 3, 2026.

What this does not fix

Token access to the MCP and A2A endpoints needs the authorization server configured; until then the endpoints answer public reads only. Mobile page speed is measured in the lab only until 28 days of field data exist.
