Trooth command-line tool 0.10.0: what a company published outside its own site

trooth public-record shows what a company filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and what the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) register holds about it, each fact with its source, and ties the company to a domain only where the evidence does.

What changed

The reading covers the filer record, the latest annual, quarterly and proxy filings with links, two years of current reports with item numbers (a material cybersecurity incident, a change of auditor, non-reliance on earlier statements), the count of insider forms in 90 days, annual revenue, net income and assets as filed, the register entry with its jurisdiction, business-register number and parents, and mail-authentication records. A company is tied to a domain only when its own annual report declares its filing data under that domain, the regulator's record names the domain, or the register entry agrees with a filer tied that way. A look-alike site that copies a company's name is shown as a claim and never tied. docs/EVIDENCE.md lists everything a company publishes on its site, with regulators and registers, and through others, and says which of it Trooth reads today.

Why it changed

A listed company publishes far more to its regulator and to registers than on its own site. Until now Trooth read only the site. A filing is also the company's own statement made under filing rules, which makes it the right thing to put beside what the site says.

Who is affected

  • Affected: Anyone weighing a listed company, and agents that need its filings and register entry without scraping them.
  • Availability: npm, as trooth 0.10.0. No account.
  • Release stage: Available.
  • Areas: CLI, API.

What to do

No action required. Nothing is required. Run trooth public-record with a domain to try it.

Versions and migration

  • trooth: 0.10.0

What this does not fix

The reading is not signed; each fact carries the address to read it again. Filing text such as risk factors is linked, not read. Investor-relations, sustainability and trust-center pages, certificate logs, contractor and sanctions lists are not read yet, and the reading is not yet shown on the company's Trust Profile.
