Personal accounts and organizations, and lighter pages

Prepare for a job change, the page this change is on

Your Trooth account and your company's workspace are now kept apart, as GitHub keeps a personal account apart from an organization: a workspace can have more than one owner, members can leave it, and an owner can reinstate a former member within three months. Every page also downloads less before it draws.

What changed

Personal settings now describe you, not your company: your own name, picture and profile, with the company's details under the workspace's General settings. An owner can make another member an owner, as GitHub recommends two. Settings, Organizations lists the workspace you belong to and lets a member leave it; the person who created the workspace stays its owner and is told why they cannot leave. When a member is removed or leaves, their role is kept for three months, and inviting them again offers Invite and reinstate or Invite and start fresh. A new guide, Prepare for a job change, says how to move your account off a job and hand over the company's workspace. On the speed side, error reporting loads a smaller library after the page, the stylesheet every page downloads is about a fifth smaller, two of the font's weights are preloaded instead of six, a phone draws the sprayed panels from files a quarter of the size, and the not-found page no longer adds the site's header to every page's download. The twelve findings of the 2026-10-21 pre-launch audit are closed: among them, the server checks the address it connects to, the session cookie carries the __Host- prefix, the health endpoint names its checks only to the operator, and the public bill of materials covers api.trooth.co as one application.

Why it changed

A person's account should outlast any one job, and a company's workspace should outlast any one person. GitHub's personal accounts and organizations are the model most teams already know, so Trooth follows it step by step.

Who is affected

  • Affected: Everyone who signs in to a company workspace, and everyone who reads trooth.co on a phone. Buyers' workspaces are not changed.
  • Availability: Everyone, from today. Nothing to switch on.
  • Release stage: Available.
  • Areas: Company workspace, Platform, Legal.

What to do

No action required. Nothing. If you own a company workspace on your own, consider making a second person an owner on People.

Dates

  • Announced: October 23, 2026, the day this entry was written. Entries are never backdated.
  • Released: October 23, 2026.

Fixes and improvements

  • The integration logos in setup draw again: they were loaded from a service that had started answering 404, and are now served by trooth.co.
  • A company's favicon is fetched by trooth.co rather than by your browser, so Google no longer sees your address when a logo is drawn.
  • The terms for Trooth's application programming interface (API) now say in section 8 what the Service Level Agreement says about availability.
  • The data processing agreement's list of sub-processors is written from the Sub-processor List, word for word.
  • The Privacy Policy names Slack (when you send status alerts there) and Google's favicon service.
  • The API at api.trooth.co reports the version it was built from and its commit.
  • Your email address is no longer kept in your browser's storage.
  • Removing a member, changing a role and every invitation now appear in the workspace's audit trail.

What this does not fix

The company's Trust Profile is still held by the account that created the workspace, so its creator cannot leave and another owner cannot delete the page; moving that hold to the workspace itself is the next step. A person still belongs to one company workspace at a time.
