Last updated: Oct 17, 2026View as Markdown
Look up any company's public record from GitHub Copilot chat in VS Code.
Install in VS Code
Opens VS Code. Nothing happens if it is not installed: download VS Code first.
Install Trooth
Open the install link
Select Install in VS Code above. Your browser asks to open VS Code; allow it.
Install and trust it
VS Code shows the trooth server. Install it, and confirm that you trust it when VS Code asks the first time it starts. There is no key.
Ask in chat
Open the Chat view and ask it to use Trooth. VS Code may ask you to confirm each tool call.
Add it by hand
Or run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette, or add this to .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace. A .mcp.json at the workspace root uses mcpServers in place of servers.

Troubleshooting
- The server did not start: run MCP: List Servers, select trooth and choose Show Output.
- To pick which Trooth tools chat may use, select Configure Tools in the chat input.
- To stop using it, right-click trooth under MCP SERVERS - INSTALLED in the Extensions view and choose Disable.
