For founders
Let your AI fill in your company profile
A Trooth company profile asks for a lot, because a buyer checking you needs a lot. If you already use an AI assistant in your browser, you can open your profile editor, ask it to read your website and fill the fields in, and check its work instead of doing the typing.
Why it does not just type into the form
A browser agent normally works the way a person does: it reads the page, finds something that looks like the right input, and types into it. On a form this size that is how a headcount lands in the founding-year field, and a wrong number on a trust profile is not a failed action. It is a wrong fact published about your company.
So the editor hands your assistant a set of named tools instead. Setting your tagline is a function call with a typed argument. It either works, or it comes back saying why not.
What it can do
trooth_profile_readRead onlyReads the draft as it stands: every field an agent may write, its current value, and which are still empty.
trooth_profile_field_catalogRead onlyFetches what each field means, the values it accepts, and the house style. Published at /api/company-profile/agent-catalog, so you can read exactly what your assistant will be told before you point it at anything.
trooth_profile_update_fieldsChanges the draftSets named fields on the draft in your browser. Reports every field it applied and every one it refused, with the reason. Nothing has been written to Trooth at this point.
trooth_profile_save_draftWrites to TroothSaves the draft. Marked as a consequential action, so a well-behaved assistant asks you first.
What it cannot do, and why
- Publishing
- Publishing replaces what buyers read about your company. A person does that, having read the sentence.
- Your public address
- Changing the slug moves your URL and breaks every link anyone has shared.
- Logo and cover artwork
- Uploads go through their own processing, with their own notices.
- The legal-review confirmation
- A statement that counsel reviewed a section. Nothing automated gets to assert that.
- Signed model and trust cards
- Structured artefacts with their own provenance rules and their own editors.
An agent may draft. A person publishes. That line is not a setting.
What it will not write for you
Everything an assistant puts in these fields is published as your company’s own statement, labelled declared rather than witnessed. The field catalog tells your assistant so, in the same words: write facts a buyer can check; do not write that the company is trusted, secure, certified, compliant or best-in-class, because those are claims and a company’s own adjective is not evidence; and if a fact is not known, leave the field empty, because an empty field reads as unknown and a plausible guess reads as a fact.
A real certification belongs in the certifications section with its issuer and its date, entered by a person.
What you need
A Chromium browser that supports WebMCP, the proposed web standard this uses, and an assistant that speaks it. WebMCP is a Draft Community Group Report from the W3C Web Machine Learning Community Group, implemented in Chrome behind an origin trial from Chrome 149. It is early, and saying so is more useful than implying otherwise.
If your browser does not support it, nothing happens: no tools are offered, no warning appears, and the editor works exactly as it always has. Your assistant can still drive the form the ordinary way. Check its work more carefully if it does.
A note on what your assistant reads
A profile contains text people typed, and an assistant reading it is reading text somebody else may have written. Every tool that returns profile content is flagged to your browser as untrusted content, and says so in its own output, so a well-behaved client treats it as data to be edited rather than as instructions to follow. That is the reason the save tool asks you first and the reason there is no publish tool at all.
Try it
Open your profile editor, start your assistant, and ask it something like: “Read our website and fill in the company details on this page. Show me what you changed before you save.”
