Semanto

Last updated: Oct 29, 2026View as Markdown

Semanto is your website as one signed, machine-readable copy that AI agents can read and check. Trooth hosts it on api.trooth.co. An adapter on your site can serve the same bytes from your own domain, so an agent that asks your site for markdown gets the signed copy.

The public routes

Every route is a plain GET on https://api.trooth.co. Replace trooth_id with the company's Trooth ID. None needs an account.

  • /public/semanto/trooth_id The Semanto file: the company's facts, pages, documents and products, signed by the company and countersigned by Trooth.
  • /public/semanto/trooth_id/keys.json The company's public keys, to check the signatures.
  • /public/semanto/trooth_id/facts.jsonld The company's facts as schema.org JSON-LD.
  • /public/semanto/trooth_id/llms.txt An llms.txt index of the signed pages, and the full text in one file.
  • /public/semanto/trooth_id/sitemap.md A markdown sitemap of the signed pages.
  • /public/semanto/trooth_id/pages/page_id.md One page's signed markdown, by its page ID.
  • /public/semanto/trooth_id/by-path/path One page's signed markdown, or its JSON-LD, by its path on the company's domain.
  • /public/semanto/trooth_id/versions Every signed version, newest first.
  • /public/semanto/verify Checks a copy against the signed version and says what matches.
  • /public/semanto/log/checkpoint The transparency log every signed version is entered in, with its checkpoint.
  • /public/semanto/benchmarks Reads across the network for the last 30 days, by reader and format, with any cell under 20 companies left out. Free to reuse under CC BY 4.0.

Headers on every answer

Each answer carries Content-Digest and an RFC 9421 Signature with Signature-Input, valid for about an hour, plus Trooth-Semanto-Version and Trooth-Page-Hash so a reader can tie the bytes to the signed version. Cache-Control says how long a copy may be kept, and Vary: Accept is on every answer.

If Trooth is slow or down

An adapter never takes your site down. It waits at most 1.5 seconds for a file, uses a stored manifest at once, and when Trooth is slow, unreachable or answers with a server error it serves the last good copy while its signature is valid, the same copy without its signature after that, or your own page. After three failures in 30 seconds it stops asking for 30 seconds. Every answer says where its bytes came from in Trooth-Delivery: trooth, stale, stale-unsigned or host.

Put it on your site

Pick your host. Each guide is a few steps, and the dashboard checks the result for you.
